BBC profiles area economy
Democrat and Chronicle (Saturday, February 2, 2002) -- The Rochester region got some international exposure recently when the BBC's Web site profiled the community's economic fortunes. The BBC's David Schepp wrote that Rochester has dealt with manufacturing layoffs with "unusual aplomb." The piece goes on to cite Rochester's efforts at attracting and creating high-tech jobs. But Schepp also notes that a variety of issues, from financial uncertainty created by Sept. 11 to retaining local college graduates, still cloud the city's future. | |
