Democrat and Chronicle

(Wednesday, January 30, 2002) -- Eastman Kodak Co. has found a new evangelist for its pioneering technology in next-generation display screens for consumer electronics.

The company has granted a license for organic light-emitting diode screens to Denso Corp. of Japan, a leading supplier of technology to automakers. Denso will make the flat-panel screens for radios and other dials in automobiles.

Kodak anticipates making $500 million from OLED screens over the next five to six years. The company has 11 other licensees.
